Most recently, Mrs. McCall was selected to build awareness of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and HIV Treatment Works (HTW) as Campaign Coordinator for both New Orleans, and Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Areas. HTW was a Health Communication and Public Relations Campaign, which was designed to support and improve the health outcomes of people living with HIV, and provide resources to healthcare providers. Mrs. McCall held focus group meetings with health care providers and HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention experts in order to develop a strategic plan based on community engagement. Mrs. McCall also, planned and managed the Pointe Coupee Community Housing Development Corporation’s (PCCHDO) parish-wide housing assessment and public relations project. Previous attempts by PCCHDO to reach the targeted population had been unsuccessful. Mrs. McCall was charged with developing a strategic plan to reach and assist the targeted population. Mrs. McCall implemented public relations collateral pieces that are still utilized as of today.
In 2013 Mrs. McCall was selected to create a strategic plan and see the implementation of the plan through for the Louisiana Alliance for Life Public Relations Project. In order to identify the population of women who had or was experiencing a crisis pregnancy, research was conducted to determine the demographics of the population, such as age, race, and socioeconomic statue. Based on research by the Guttmacher Institute, http://www.guttmacher.org, women who have an abortion, are in college, may already have a child or have had an abortion previously.
